Yesterday, Reynier Llanes spent a few hours hanging his new show Anecdotes from a Diary at the Studio.  It is always really exciting to see an artist hang a show, especially a show that is so personal.  These paintings draw heavily on Reynier’s childhood and homeland of Cuba for inspiration.  As he carefully unpacked each framed piece and placed them around the room, the story began to fall together.  Although many of the works are painted with coffee in the artist’s signature style, there are also some lovely watercolors, acrylics, and the occasional oil painting.

The show runs through January 15, 2013.  There will be a reception on Saturday, December 8 from 5:30-8pm.  Please stop in!
