It’s that time of year on Folly Beach! The 24th Annual Folly Beach Sea and Sand Festival kicks off on Friday with the Miss Folly Beach Pageant followed at 6pm by a Moonlight Mixer on the Folly Beach pier at 7pm. The weekend will be filled with all sorts of family-friendly activities, great live music, and surfing competitions. Nearly 5,000 people attend the Sea and Sand Festival every year and party on the beach while enjoying the delicious food vendors and entertainment.

The activities will start bright and early at 8am on Saturday with the Tides Kickoff Classic Surfing Competition. This is also your chance to check out around 100 different local food and arts & crafts vendors that will be on Folly from 10-5pm. Or, you can cheer on the runners in the Coffin Island 5K beginning at 9am, which is another exciting part of the festival that you don’t want to miss. It is a Pirate Themed Run/Walk with a prize for the best dressed pirate!

On Sunday you’ll find dunes properties agents at the Coffin Island Sand Sculpting Contest. This fun contest is sponsored by Folly Beach Now and dunes properties. See how to register along with additional details about the contest at our agent Vince Perna’s website, Folly Beach Now. Anyone can enter the contest and any kind of sand sculpture is allowed.

The weekend will wrap up with a concert finale at the Tides/BLU. Whether you live on Folly Beach, are vacationing there for the weekend, or are a local heading out for the day, there’s something for everyone. Come out and see us on Folly Beach this weekend!
