Eastwood is one of the few neighborhoods on James Island that is located right on the Charleston Harbor and backs up to the May Forest Convent so it feels very nestled into the island. It is a more established neighborhood with homes built from the 50s all the way through to the 90s. Being only 5 minutes from downtown Charleston and 10 minutes from the beach, it’s location is prime.
Because the homes in Eastwood were built over such an extended period of time, one can find a wide range of home styles. Generally, homes are 1 & 2 story, 3-5 bedrooms, and at least 2 full baths. Pricing ranges from the $300’s – $2 million, with some of the homes being situated right on the Charleston Harbor.
People are drawn to this neighborhood for a number of reasons; location, mature landscaping, high ranking schools, walking trails, and a community park on the harbor. Melton Peter Demetre Park (formerly Sunrise Park) is just minutes away with a fishing pier, kayak dock, two sandy riverfront beaches and some of the best harbor views.
