Downtown Charleston Homes for Sale

One of the most affordable neighborhoods in Downtown Charleston, North Central is bounded on the north by Mount Pleasant Street, the south by Huger Street, and Rutledge and King on the east and west.  Most of the homes in this neighborhood were built in the 30s, 40s, and 50s and are mainly bungalow or cottage style. This is where you may be able to find the “handyman specials” and even some great new construction. Popular with young professionals given its proximity to Upper King Street and the hip area of Morrison Drive as well as Hampton Park, North Central is a diverse Downtown neighborhood.

Insider Tip:
You used to have to travel south on the peninsula for a variety of restaurants and bars, but there are some standouts in this neighborhood, including the neighborhood pioneers Rutledge Cab Company and The Container Bar, which is constructed out of old, converted shipping containers and hosts 5 rotating food trucks on site. For a fantastic cup of coffee and delicious scratch-made food, visit The Harbinger.
