Whitney Lake on Johns Island, SC: Lakeside Living with Active Lifestyle Amenities

Born in NC and raised in the SC upstate, Rick McDonald graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in History and English.  He spent many summers and holidays along the NC coast as well as visiting Charleston and the surrounding sea islands. His grandparents lived in Charleston and worked in the local produce markets, and his parents attended high school in Charleston and graduated from College of Charleston. Because of these experiences, he has a deep personal appreciation for the history of the surrounding Lowcountry area.

As a global sourcing leader for GE, Rick managed a global supply chain team, created and implemented procurement strategies, lead corporate buy, sell and merger negotiations, and traveled extensively overseas to develop critical path suppliers for the power generation and oil and gas markets. For the last 17 years, Rick has owned a sales representative business focused on business development, strategic planning and sales for international manufacturers and US based companies. Rick’s personal experience, as well as an interest in purchasing, renovating, and investing in residential and commercial real estate, eventually lead him to become a real estate agent.

Rick and his wife, Lisa, are residents of Seabrook Island. They have three children and enjoy spending time together on Seabrook Island observing all the nature scenes, taking in the salt air and boating on the surrounding waterways. He also enjoys introducing new comers to the low country, touring them around Charleston’s historical sites, and sharing with them Charleston’s live music scene.
