Historic Snee Farm in Mt. Pleasant, SC

Snee Farm, now a beloved residential community in Mt. Pleasant, SC, has a rich history that dates back to its days as a working plantation. The land was originally part of a colonial-era plantation established in the early 18th century. It is most famously associated with Charles Pinckney, a Founding Father and drafter of the U.S. Constitution.

The Charles Pinckney National Historic Site, located on a portion of the former plantation grounds, preserves the legacy of this prominent statesman and offers insight into life on a Lowcountry plantation. Visitors can explore the site’s historic structures, lush landscapes, and exhibits detailing the contributions of enslaved workers who played a vital role in shaping the region’s agricultural economy.

Today, Snee Farm mixes its historic roots with modern living. While much of the original plantation land has been transformed into a vibrant community with homes and the Snee Farm Country Club, the area still honors its rich past, offering residents a connection to South Carolina’s storied history.
