I live in the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant and have been there for going on 11 years. It’s a great hodgepodge of styles and price ranges. On any given day you could snap a picture worthy to be on a magazine cover- a beautiful bike with a basket with an elegant woman sporting a straw hat and a summer dress, a young couple pushing a baby stroller and walking their dog, white picket fences, live oaks, blooming azaleas- It’s just visually idealic. But it doesn’t stop there. It’s a place where you know your neighbors by name and stop and ask someone if they need help carrying their groceries in. It’s like most neighbhorhoods in Charleston.
And it doesn’t stop there. I can’t imagine a more convenient place to live than the Old Village. It’s so convenient. The Blue Angels were in town over the weekend to perform two air shows. My husband and I just took a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and voila- front row seats! On the Fourth of July fireworks are set off on Sullivan’s Island, Patriot’s Point, James Island and Isle of Palms. 15 minute walk to Alhambra Hall and again, front row seats to the best light show ever because you can see the fireworks from all the islands. The Blessing of the Fleet- right there at Alhambra Hall. Need a great spot for a picnic? The playground across from Alhambra Hall. Crave an old fashioned malted milk shake? The Pitt Street Pharmacy. An unusual gift or bouquet? Out of Hand on Pitt St. Breakfast treats? The Old Village Bakery.
The cherry on top? We’re just a 5-10 minute drive to the beaches of Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s.
So if you are thinking about a change of neighborhoods, somewhere to slow down and find the time to actually live life- give Dunes Properties a call and we can find out what Charleston neighborhood will suit you best!
