Barbara Atkins is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida.  She graduated from Florida State University and Winthrop University, where she earned a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Nutrition.  She is a Registered Dietitian with 18 years of pharmaceutical sales experience with Bristol –Myers Squibb in Charlotte, NC and the Tampa Bay area.

After living in the Carolinas and visiting family in the Charleston area for many years, she and her husband Mark decided to relocate to Folly Beach.  Her sons Jake and Nick visit frequently from New Hampshire and Florida.  Her daughter Caroline will be graduating from the College of Charleston in May 2018.

Barbara enjoys the serene beaches, spectacular sunsets, beautiful county parks, tennis, boating, and kayaking throughout the marshlands. Dining and shopping in historic Charleston has always been a favorite date.  Frequently she has to remind herself that she is no longer a visitor, but fortunately a resident of the Lowcountry.
