Laurie Hull grew up in Ohio and had a very successful career in the advertising business working as Director of Account Services for one of the largest ad agencies in the eastern United States. She left Ohio in 1994 and traveled all over the country, hiking the mountains and canyons, visiting friends and exploring key cities, looking for her new place to call home. After her travels and spending a year working in Denver, CO she needed to move back east, closer to family. Laurie moved from Denver to Charleston in 1995 after taking a job with Rawle Murdy, Associates and lived in Isle of Palms for a year. She fell in love with Charleston and bought her home in Folly Beach in 1996. “There is no other place quite like Charleston. I fell in love with the lush history, beautiful architecture and sub-tropical climate. The people are just so friendly and relaxed. It was wonderful to work in the city and go home to Folly Beach, my little island oasis.” She still lives on Folly Beach after 19 years. Now, Laurie and her husband Sam, a native of Folly Beach, are raising their teenage daughter Samantha to appreciate the island lifestyle and growing historical city. Together, they go boating and spend hours walking the beaches hunting for fossils, artifacts and beach treasures. They all love to fish, crab and float through the beautiful rivers and creeks of the Lowcountry.
Laurie began her real estate career in 2004. Her mother and father both had successful careers in real estate and with her vast experience in marketing and communications, it seemed like a natural second career. Her strengths begin with her first hand, in depth knowledge of the market area. Laurie served as Board President of the Mariners Cay Marina Council of Co-Owners and currently serves on the Folly Beach Parks and Recreation Committee.
