Riverland Terrace Charleston
One of the first planned communities outside the city, Riverland Terrance on James Island, is minutes to Folly Beach or Downtown Charleston. It is an eclectic mix of charming 1940s-60s bungalows with a few newer homes sprinkled throughout. A pleasant drive through the picturesque neighborhood showcases flowering shrubs, grand oaks, and dogwoods. A deepwater dock & boat ramp on the Intracoastal Waterway, owned and operated by Charleston County Parks and Recreation, and the Charleston Municipal Golf Course (the “Muni”) are nearby. The Historic American Revolution Fort Pemberton is in the Riverland Terrance neighborhood and features a lovely walking trail. It is also walking distance of the local theater and restaurants. Nearby Medway Park is host to a seasonal farmers market, and hiking and biking trails are popular at nearby James Island County Park.
