Rhett’s Bluff
Situated between the Kiawah River and Bass Pond, this deep water neighborhood of Rhett’s Bluff has quite a history. It contains the graves of Mary and James Shoolbred who arrived from London in 1790. They owned the western half of Kiawah Island from 1797-1841! He became the first British consul for the U.S. Homes here are nestled among ancient live oaks and palmettos; many properties feature private docks or spectacular marsh views while others gaze across the Fazio designed River Golf Course, for Kiawah Island Club members only. Walk to Sasanqua Day Spa, play tennis, exercise at the state of the art fitness center, or set your water craft out from the boat ramp on the river.
