The Real Estate Studio is excited to welcome local photographer and biologist Sarah Harper Díaz as their latest artist! The show will be on display at The Studio from October 8 – November 18, 2014.
Sarah Harper Díaz is a biologist and wildlife photographer. Sarah’s love of birds developed after she volunteered with a local ornithologist and assisted in banding local birds during her undergraduate years at the College of Charleston, where she graduated with a BA in Biology.
Sarah’s inspiration for photographing birds began after a study-abroad program that took place in the Peruvian rainforest in 2007. While wandering around the jungle, Sarah explored taking pictures with her Nikon DSLR and decided then and there that she wanted to be a photographer and become fluent in Spanish. She returned to the Peruvian jungle in 2009 where she took an ornithology course and met her husband, Edward Díaz.
From there, Sarah received a Master’s Degree in Biology from the Citadel and worked as a research assistant on several projects where she surveyed bird populations in both suburban areas and in the middle of a remote swamp in the heat of summer.
Sarah currently resides in the Charleston area with her husband and 11-month-old daughter, Rosa Louise Díaz. She can be reached at 843.478.3322.
An Artists Reception is planned for Friday, October 24th from 5-8pm. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served. For more information, contact The Real Estate Studio at 722-5618.
