The BB&T Food and Wine Festival’s Ticket Launch Party tonight kicks off what is going to be a very busy Fall filled with exciting culinary Lowcountry events. The Launch Party is held annually in order to give Food and Wine attendees an idea of what the 2014 festival will be like. This year, the event will take place at the Mixson Bath and Racquet Club, a private club in North Charleston that will give party goers a poolside venue along with games like bocce and badminton.

The event will feature a preview of what is to be a new and improved Culinary Village and music from the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. But the main attraction, of course, is the food and drink provided by Charleston Chefs, Mixologists, and Farmers/Purveyors in the area.

As if all of that isn’t enough to stomach, there are also a slew of fun activities taking place over Columbus Day Weekend. A new event, Island Brews and Chews Craft Beer Festival, will be taking place at the Wild Dunes Resort. This is an exciting new event that will give people a chance to experience the newest addition to the Resort, Palm Cove, where it will take place. Or, you can head into town to The Grove at Patriots Point and take part in the Mac Off, a Macaroni and Cheese Competition between various local restaurants that will be delicious and filling.

These are just a few of many in a great line up of various culinary events taking place around the Charleston Area over the next few months. Check out Charleston City Paper if you’re interested in seeing what other activities are taking place!
