As we near the end of the 2nd quarter, the housing pace has slowed a bit, as predicted, but median home prices are up $6,000 in the Charleston Area. Compared to May 2013, the number of homes sold slightly increased to 1,294, and the median sales price increased to $218,000 in the Lowcountry, according to the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors. In Charleston County, 709 homes sold at a median price of $282,290, with Mount Pleasant as the most active area.

Isle of Palms and Wild Dunes saw significant increases in the median prices compared to 2013. The median home price in May of this year was $704,500, which is 48% higher than May, 2013. Homes are also on the market for less than half of the time than they were one year ago.
