Just a short bike ride from Downtown Charleston, Wagener Terrace remains one of the most affordable neighborhoods on the Charleston Peninsula. Popular with young professionals and families given its close proximity to the majority of Charleston’s restaurants and shopping, Wagener Terrace has homes built from the 1920s-1950s on its tree lined streets. Residents enjoy Ashley River views to the west, the beautiful Hampton Park to the south, and the newly refurbished Corinne Jones Playground in the middle of the neighborhood.
For the best sunset views, stroll to the Ashley River at the base of St. Margaret Street. If you are lucky, on the weekends you might catch a peek of a wedding at the last plantation left on the Peninsula, Lowndes Grove.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Colin Crates has always held a special love for the Lowcountry, fostered by annual vacations to Kiawah Island and a passion for the immense history of the Charleston area. When it came time to choose a college, he had no doubt that he would return to the area as a College of Charleston undergrad. Colin studied Political Science and International Studies at CofC, graduating with honors. After graduating, Colin found real estate to be a natural progression, utilizing his natural people skills, hard work ethic and overall love of the Charleston area to help others call Charleston their home, too. When he’s not out showing homes or closing deals, you can usually find Colin with his two adopted dogs, Alfie and Curry, taking them on long walks around the Greenway near their West Ashley home, or exploring Charleston’s many neighborhoods, restaurants, beaches, and dog parks.
